Rebecca is a 19-year-old Business Administration student from Norwood, ON. Growing up, both parents were practicing artists and always encouraged her creativity. Dabbling in mediums from acrylic paint to charcoal sketching, Rebecca’s creative skills have had ample resources to be shaped into what is displayed. Through recent years, Rebecca has adopted oil and acrylic painting as her primary mediums, using them both individually and together in layers. Pieces [currently in the gallery] like “Rocky Beach” are completely oil on canvas, “Blue Jay,” is a combination of acrylic and oil on canvas, and “Great Blue Heron” is entirely acrylic. Aside from the subject matter being obviously inspired by nature, by observing “Fungi” [see above] you can see Rebecca’s affinity to painting on nature as well, in this case, on Birch Polypore.1 Other canvases include wood biscuits (commonly used as centerpieces) and other types of tree fungi. When Rebecca is hired for work, it is typically for pet portraits. Most commonly painted are dog memorials, other portraits are kitten features. These can be previewed on social media. Nature studies...can be seen on Instagram and Tik Tok under @rblynn.art and Rebecca Sprowl on Facebook. Commissions for portraits can be hired in DM’s of social media and further communication will be reached.
